Another Chance to Kayak

If you thought my first kayaking trip looked like fun, you have a chance to try it this Saturday, Oct. 16 at New Quarter Park. It’s the last BYOK event of the year (Bring Your Own Kayak), so give it a try. If you don’t have a kayak, you can rent one for $25. Here are the details from an email from leader Sara Lewis:

Arrive at 9 a.m., sign in, drive 3/4 mile to the put-in site, and expect to launch by 9:20. The out-and-back paddle will last about two and a half hours with take-out at the same site by noon. The program is free and open to the public. Kayaks are available to rent for BYOK from Chesapeake Experience for $25 by calling 890-0502 or e-mailing [email protected] by Friday, October 15 at noon. We will be paddling on the falling tide (low tide at 11:52 a.m.) and the forecast is for a sunny and breezy day with morning temperatures in the 50s and 60s!
